WHO: Không có bằng chứng về mối đe dọa Covid 19 từ bao bì thực phẩm

Tổ chức Y tế Thế giới đã trấn an công chúng rằng họ không tìm thấy bằng chứng cho thấy bao bì thực phẩm gây ra mối đe dọa virus corona.

Tại Trung Quốc, có thông tin cho rằng hai thành phố đã tìm thấy dấu vết của vi rút virus corona trong cánh gà đông lạnh nhập khẩu từ Brazil và trên bao bì bên ngoài của tôm đông lạnh nhập khẩu từ Ecuador.

Tuy nhiên, WHO tin rằng mối đe dọa dịch covid trên bao bì thực phẩm là không đáng kể. Ông Mike Ryan- người đứng đầu chương trình khẩn cấp của WHO, nói trong một cuộc họp tại Geneva: “Mọi người không nên sợ thực phẩm, thực phẩm đóng gói hoặc thực phẩm chế biến, hay giao nhận thực phẩm, vì nguy cơ lây nhiễm rất ít. Không có bằng chứng cho thấy việc lây nhiễm virus corona qua thực phẩm hoặc chuỗi thức ăn. Và mọi người nên cảm thấy thoải mái và yên tâm ”.

Nhà dịch tễ học của WHO Maria Van Kerkhove cho biết Trung Quốc đã kiểm tra hàng trăm nghìn gói hàng và “tìm thấy rất, rất ít virus corona, không đủ lượng để kiểm tra” và chứng tỏ rằng, virus corona không có nguy cơ lây qua đường thực phẩm hay bao bì thực phẩm.

Những ai còn lo lắng quá mức thì có thể tham khảo lời khuyên của Giáo sư Sally Bloomfield từ Trường Vệ sinh và Y học Nhiệt đới London. Cô nói với BBC rằng mọi người có thể để sản phẩm trong 72 giờ trước khi sử dụng hoặc ‘xịt và lau hộp nhựa hoặc thủy tinh bằng thuốc tẩy thông thường là có thể diệt được virus corona rồi.
